Hidden Legends app for iPhone and iPad

* Hidden Legend app is an application that shows the 3d augmented reality characters by recognizing the stickers (markers) attached to Lotte department store passage in Korea. It also recognizes the marker inserted in the artbook. It can also be shared with the SNS (Instagram) via the photo shooting function.

1990년대는 팝컬쳐와 함께 대중문화산업이 TV라는 대중매체를 통해 비약적인 발전을 거듭하던 시기였다. 그러한 트렌드의 흐름에 따라 자연스럽게 스포츠 산업 역시 대중문화의 한 분야를 차지하며 발전하고 있었다. 그 중에서도 화려한 기술과 천재적인 선수들이 그 기량을 뽐내던 ‘농구’라는 종목은 미국을 벗어나 아시아권 국가들에 이르기까지 세계적인 스포츠가 되었다. 90년대 한국 또한 대중문화의 여러 요소들을 적극적으로 받아들이던 시기였고, 농구는 그 중에서도 가장 빠른 문화적 확장성을 보이며 성장했다. 90년대의 젊은 세대들은 컬러 TV, 슬램덩크, 힙합 문화들을 받아들이면서 농구화 (조던)를 콜렉팅하고 개인의 취향을 당당히 드러내던 세대이기도 했다. 이렇게 자연스럽게 흡수된 농구문화를 통하여 한국에도 NBA 팬층이 구성되었으며, 동시에 해당 세대는 예술에 대한 호기심을 강하게 피력하는 세대 이기도 하였다. 팬아트에서 시작하여 상품에 이르기까지 마이클 조던, 피펜 등 세계적 농구스타들의 아이코닉한 이미지들은 예술적으로 변신하여 작품화되기 시작했다.

90s Pop Culture and NBA Legends


During 1990s, pop culture and pop culture industries improved rapidly through the television. These kind of trend emerged up the sport industry and it became part of the pop culture and started to develop. Above all of the sport, the basketball was spotlighted because of fancy and talented players. Basketball has become most popular and global sport in the world. Also South Korea was one of the countries that adapted the foreign culture in positive way and basketball influenced pop culture to young generation in South Korea. 90s young generations started to adapt hip-hop culture and collected Jordan series because of Slam Dunk (Basketball comic in Japan). Also colored television influenced young generations to express their characteristics. Since basketball absorbed to young generation＊s pop culture in South Korea, it rapidly constructed NBA fans. These young generations always expressed their curiosities about an art and it started to make them an art about basketball such as Michael Jordan, Pippen, and etc. Those iconic players and images transformed one of the pop cultural arts.
